Exam Details
APSC CCE Preliminary Examination
- Exam Type: Objective (Multiple Choice)
- Structure:
- Two papers: General Studies-I and General Studies-II
- Duration: 2 hours per paper
- Total Marks: 400 (200 marks per paper)

- Negative marking applies – one-fourth of the marks per question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

APSC CCE Main Examination
The Main Examination is divided into two parts:
- Written Examination
- Format: Combination of descriptive and objective-type questions.

- Duration: 3 hours per paper.
- Medium: Answers can be written in either English or Assamese.
- Eligibility for Mains: Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination (with approximately 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies per category) are invited for this stage.

Eligibility Criteria
To ensure that only suitable candidates apply, the following criteria must be met:
Nationality & Residency
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Regional Language Proficiency: Ability to speak Assamese or any other official language/tribal language of the state is required.
- Residency: Only original inhabitants of Assam are eligible.
- Employment Registration: Applicants should be registered with a District Employment Office in Assam.
Age Requirements
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years of age on January 1, 2024.
