2. Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of two parts:
I. Written Examination
- Eligibility: Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Exam are shortlisted (typically 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies per category).

- Total Papers: 6 papers
- Paper 1: Essay (250 marks, 3 hours)
- Papers 2-5: General Studies (each 250 marks, 3 hours per paper)
- Paper 6: General Subject Paper on Assam (250 marks, 3 hours)
- Medium: Answers can be written in either English or Assamese.
II. Interview/Personality Test
- Marks: 180 marks
